If you are looking to update your home and want to modernize it a bit in the process, consider using multiple paint colors in one room.
Richard Stewart Painting has some suggestions on how to use multiple paint colors in one room in order to create a trendy, unique room.
Choosing the Right Room
Any room in your home that might need a helping hand in the design department is a good candidate for a multiple-color paint job. We suggest using this method for rooms that are smaller and aren’t typically filled with furniture.
On the flip side, multiple colors also work well in rooms that are large with one wall that has a unique shape. If you’re remodeling the kitchen and want to make a statement without breaking the bank on expensive tile, consider using a different paint color in place of it.
Focus on Color Coordination
The best way to choose matching colors is to stick to one area of the color wheel. You’ll want to choose either a warmer or a cooler shade of the color you want to paint the bulk of the room ensuring the colors will blend well together. It can be hard to get a good idea of what the finished product will look like but by choosing different shades of the same color, you know for sure everything will look coordinated.
Create an Accent Wall
If you want to try something different, you can also paint a design onto one designated space of the wall. You can use stencils or painter’s tape to create geometric patterns in all different colors, or paint stripes onto the wall. Use an accent wall to create an incredible reading nook or designate a home office space.
Regardless of your style and painting aspirations, there are endless opportunities to mix and match multiple paint colors.
