Paint Project for Korean War Vet

11341555_SAn 82 year old Korean war vet, Marvin Fry, was recently chosen to be honored for the Paint it Forward project. This project takes nominations from the community for helping someone with a paint job each year for the past four years of time. This year the vet was chosen to help fix up his home with a new paint job, both on the exterior and interior.

This vet in particular was chosen because just only six months ago he had suffered a horrible stroke, which left the man unable to do much of anything around his house. So in addition to an entire make-over and paint job, many people also pitched in to help clean up his home and fix things up the best that they could. And all of this was in honor of Veterans Day to help a veteran.

Fry was chosen from a number of other vets, that are around each year and the owner of the painting company that handles the Paint it Forward project mentioned that they always have such a tough choice to choose one each year when almost all the veterans that need help deserve the help.

The project for this year started last week, and hopefully will be done for Veteran’s Day, just in time to have a celebration and a BBQ in the Veterans backyard. The crew working on it is always looking for people to come help out and join them before then though. Or maybe this might be the kind of thing that does need to spread around to other parts of the United States to honor even more people that need a paint job.
